Hi! I am Isaac Daniel Herrera.

I was born and raised in East Texas, now living in Okinawa. I started my photography in 2016, when I bought my first camera, a Canon T6i. I am a self taught photographer and since the first moment I picked it up, I have been in love with capturing moments and emotions through my lenses. I enjoy travel photography, and used to love portraits, but have since found my favorite genre, landscape photography.

I now shoot with a Canon EOS R and am constantly striving to improve and learn new techniques. I first started out using photography for the same reasons many do, to capture memories and to take more pictures on vacation, better than I could on my phone. As time went on and I got more comfortable behind the lens, I realized that you could express exactly what was on my mind through photographs. That's when it became much more to me than just keeping records of where I had been. It then became a way to channel how I was feeling into a single image, filled with emotions, thoughts, emotions, grief, love, disappointment, and much more.. There is something very therapeutic about being able to get out of your head and see what you're feeling right in front of you. It lifts that weight off of your shoulders and lets you get it out and put it aside.

I wanted to start this website so that I could showcase my work with less limitations than social media. I wanted to be able to explain each photo and what went into it without feeling like I need to be short and sweet to keep the attention of viewers on an algorithm. So, if you are here, thank you!
